Here's something fun that I did yesterday.

If you want to smile, take 5 minutes and watch as I turn a salad bowl from a cauliflower. After the bowl was completed, I applied a food safe finish (butter) and baked it for dinner!

Inspired by nature, of course.....

Enjoy!

I want to see someone turn a watermelon.😉 I think some have turned a grain of rice (without soy sauce).

Is the cauliflower bowl dishwasher safe?

Very clever and fun project. I guess that one shouldn't try this at 3000 RPM.

What's next -- washing the turning tools in the kitchen sink?

I'm not generally fond of natural edge bowls, but his one is... delicious.

Thanks for today's smile.

Very Funny. thanks for posting. I have turned a grain of rice but had to soak it with CA. It's too fragile. It's what got me started turning the micro miniature goblets.

Well, maybe it is or maybe it isn't ... my cardiologist told me after my triple bypass that I am not supposed to eat butter ... or anything else that tastes good because it is bad for me. But, then he didn't say anything about using it as a finish on turned food. 😀

Cindy,

Great vid and wonderful presentation. Always nice to see someone having fun at what they do. Maybe you could sell these to some sushi chefs..............😀

And talk about going green!!!

What a hoot! I sent the link to the journal's production team and they had fun watching it! Now they want to try out a cauliflower cover, maybe for the spring issue .....
