Travel mug insert design change

I recently made about 20 travel mugs with the stainless steel inserts. I had about 5 inserts in the cabinet and bought the rest from Packard. The ones from Packard had a threaded top. The old ones that I had been using had a top that just pushed on. At first I felt the newer design with the threads was an improvement but after using the new design I prefer the old ones.
I ordered more inserts, this time from Craft Supply, one of my original sources for inserts. To my surprise they too were now with threaded lids.
Does any one still sell the older design with the push on tops?

Which probably means that the same thing is true about the new ones from Rocklers and Woodcraft.

I have one that I bought from Rocklers several years ago. Occasionally I come across it while rummaging through my seemingly endless assortment of kit stuff (screwdrivers, ice cream scoops, doorknobs, pizza wheels, bottle openers, corkscrews, and on and on). I keep telling myself that one of these days when I get a "round Tuit" ...

I've been buying the completed mugs from TJ Max. They had a bunch with cracks in them and when I pointed that out they sold them to me for $4.95. Throw away the plastic and I'm ready to go. Mine all have screw in tops.

Mug source

I get travel from places like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Christmas Tree stores. They have a plastic sleeve around the stainless insert. Usually cost around $2.99 each. Take out the screw I'm the bottom and you can usually pop the plastic sleeve off. So far none of these cheap mugs have threaded lids. If I'm in a bind for some and those stores are out I get them at walmart for around $4.99-$5.99

Good luck
