I am researching for a series of Arts and Crafts style table lamps. I want to use a translucent wood and was considering Norfolk Island Pine which I’ve never worked with. Anybody have experience turning translucent lampshades? I’m looking for soft, amber lighting- hoping for about a 15 inch diameter shade. Ideally I’d like to turn end grain, green wood. Any help would be appreciated! PT

My last one did not survive, Poplar wood 12" X 13" high, I did make a picture from when I was looking for the light coming through, then decide to do a little more sanding in the top end when the sander got flung up and I ended up with two halves :mad:, wall thickness is a hair over 2 mm with a thicker ring on the bottom edge and also thicket top.
