I received an email from the California Library Association concerning the safe materials law. They are advising us to shut children's librarys down on Feb 10 to comply with the law. We can not guarentee what the books were printed with or on and the stuffed toys and other games are not tested. This means I will have to rope off the children's section of the bookmobile and not allow parents to check out children's books. If anyone is interested in the email, I will forward it to you so no one thinks this is a hoax. Another case of passing laws when their minds are in nuetral.

That’s a strong example of unintended consequences...sorry to hear how far this new law has crept into our day-to-day lives, but suspect we’ll be seeing a lot more of this over the next few weeks.

Call your congressman and sign the Handmade Toy Alliance petition.
