Totally Turning 2016 Picture/Video

Thank you very much for the excellent photos. I think that my fave has to be the seven nested cherry bowls by Jan Close. The hollowform with the first place ribbon is also outstanding. I can see why it won the award. I also noticed that the participation in Beads of Courage was very good. The hollowforms by Malcolm Ray are also beautiful. I believe that I saw them on WoW recently.

It was a fun event with some great demos. I brought my daughter for a little time together and to inspire the budding artist within her. After Steve Sinner's discussion on the value of critique we walked through the gallery again, this time applying thoughts from the discussion and thinking about what constructive comments we might give to the makers. She was especially inspired by Linda Ferber and Miriam Carpenter. I think she was relieved to see some ladies among the sea of men. 😎 More than that though, she was truly excited about turning and creating using the lathe and other techniques.

In another thread there was discussion about the future of the craft. I would suggest a "bring your daughter/granddaughter to an event" initiative.
