I am looking for recommendations for best approaches to transport tools between my home shop and the club. The canvas tool rolls look like a good solution. Thanks!

I didn't like the tool rolls. I ase behind the seat tool boxes that I got from Sears. I don't know if anyone still makes them. They were designed to go behind your truck seat. They are about 4" tall. 7 or 8" wide and maybe 22" long. They made 2 sizes a slightly shorter one. I'm amazed how many toils I can get in one of those. A few of my tools are too long but those have removable handles.

I have a tool roll, gotten free at Woodcraft in a giveaway long ago. It is reasonably useful for longer tools. But I do a lot of spindle turning, and my spindle tools have short handles, so that they would disappear in the roll pockets. Their handles are removable, so I simply reverse the tool steel and put them in a bag or bucket. Usually I do that with the longer tools as well. Doesn't work for some tools, such as skews. Those I put tape on the edge for self-protection.

I have a Husky from HD. It is long enough for tools and tall enough to handle face shield. Also got the modular box to go on top for all that small stuff you always need. AND it is on wheels.

Husky rolling toolbox. They make several sizes and I thing mine is smaller than this one.

I have the Lee Valley canvas tool roll. It works well for me, but like Gerald alluded to, there is nowhere to handle the face shield, turning smock, calipers, etc. I ended up using a gym bag for all that other stuff so I'm not trying to juggle everything with only two hands.

I’ve been using one I bought from Packard for close to 30 years. Plus we also have two that were gifts from woodcraft.
I use the wood craft one for hollowing tools.
I use these for demos, workshops etc.

On ours anything with a point - parting tool, skew, pyramid tool.- gets tape or a plastic sleve. Thies will poke through the cloth.

For me these work great.

I too have the one from Woodcraft and agree about the observation regarding long tools vs. short tools
