John, thanks for the kind words. After numerous requests, we are coming out with a 15" Comfort Rest. We started the first run today. A 20" would probably start to vibrate out at the end if you were doing heavy work. We don't make long two-posted rests, but Vicmarc does. There may be others too that will do it, and most local welding shops can rig one up too.

I would also be worried about a catch at the end of the rest and bending it. I have a couple 12" Oneway rests that happened to.
What?? Steve Worcester got a catch? Sorry, I just ain't buying that one.🙄 How about you tried to use it for a pry bar? I'd believe that first.😛

If you do a local fab, it is very important to make a good fixture to insure that the two posts are absolutely parallel. The downside is that it is hard enough getting things lined up when using two tool rest bases, but when the posts are not parallel, it is a nightmare. It is much less work to just stick with a single post rest and move it as needed.
As an accessory for the PM 4224 which has the 1"post they offer a 20"

Steve, was this the long curve "interior" curved rest?? I have the same one that I've had some serious wobble with. I've thought about welding up a rest as an offset "Tee", with a support on the outside to strengthen the weld and minimize wobble. This could be done with round bar for all parts, or round for the post & square for the rest. I think I'd make it all round to keep rubbing friction to a minimum.

No, it was a 12" straight toolrest. Had to use a 5lb sledge to coax it back in true.
