In the 80's and 90's I was turning for 5 galleries and doing numerous art/craft shows while working another full time job. In short, I turned my hobby into a job. Now retired, and trying to figure out the repurposing of my new life. I purchased a small VS Rikon and fell in love with wood turning all over again. I'm currently building out a 10x20 garage as a shop/turning studio. I am actively looking for a lathe. Preferably at least an 18 inch swing and a short bed. There is a One-way 2436 locally available for $5k but it is a little more lathe than I would want. My interest is some limited production turning, as that is where the money is. Wine stoppers, pens, some turned out of antler, bowls, and eventually back to hollow forms. I'm really interested in learning to work with Resin's, but don't like the "plastic" look. Learning resins, is going to be an interesting journey. I'm located in the Denver area and have joined the local club. I'm looking forward to all that lays ahead.

Welcome. The search bar will bring up many threads of various lathes. You live in a nice area. I was born in CO. There are many great wood turners within driving distance for you. You can find a club or school nearby and may be able to demo lathes before buying.
