Hi, I am sorta new to this forum. I get distracted easily and keep forgetting to check it. I prefer to spend my time in the shop rather than on the computer. I graduated from NBSS Preservation Carpentry in 1995 and spent many years remodeling/restoring historic homes in KC & Tampa. My latest passion is kite foiling and spend far too little time on the water but I also lost the shop in the divorece. Now I get to buy the tools I really wanted. 🙂

Welcome!

My latest passion is kite foiling and spend far too little time on the water

Sounds like fun! My shoulders and balance at 74 discourages such fun these days, but few years ago I bought a kite and a board with fat rubber tires that can be used of flat sand at the beach (or anywhere flat if you are brave enough). A couple of my adult sons like using it.

We love to watch the kiteboarders out at the Outer Banks (Cape Hatterass) mostly on the Sound side except for a few with doubtful saniity in the big waves. 🙂 Some had foils for flying above over the water.

One year I was there fishing in December and wearing a heavy coat in the evening and the kite boarders were all over (wearing wet suits, but still...). It's amazing the heights they can get off the water then land and keep going without dying.
