Symposium Registration packet

Yes, you should have received a letter with a confirmation. At this point the AAW office staff will be in Louisville starting tomorrow. You should also have a screenshot and/or email verifying your registration. Bring those to the registration desk.

That's all you need Ed. And actually you don't even need to bring them but it doesn't hurt. Next year you will be able to go back in to the new members-only login area and verify your registration at any time.

The packet we send out isn't much, and you can get a copy there.

Jeff, I have received nothing as well and confirmed my hotel by phone and found they had me in for one night only. Fix that but still wondering why AAW never sent a packet of info. Phil

Phil, I too did not receive any confromation, I do have my Visa Bill showing that I have been charged, hope that will be proof enough.
I am staying with Vince from Vinceswoodnwonders, pay back for him coming to my shop twice for turning instruction.

See you soon!

Just to confirm one thing - the AAW registration does not include or book the hotel. So if the hotel days got messed up it was due to Galt House. If you are staying at Galt House you will like it - it's very nice.

I don't know why some people did not get registration packets. But to delve into this - if you registered online then I question why the AAW needs to send registration packets by mail at all? For me, I would rather have it all online and I could just look at the registration stuff and print out what I want. Maybe this is a policy we could change for next year. It takes the staff a lot of time to send out 1,500 postal confirmations.

I agree

Jeff,

I agree completely with you. If I register on line then let's keep things on line and forget sending packets. It saves the AAW paper and postage.

I e-mailed the listed AAW address on the Symposium page and was told that I was not registered. I responded and gave more specifics - except one. Later I got a reply and they had found me. I forgot that my registration is under "C. Edward Moore" and not just "Ed Moore". They found me, all is well, I am registered correctly, and the wheels are in motion for us to leave at "Oh dark thirty" in the morning.

And apparently I have five chances in about two thousand to get a lathe like I "need". That's pretty good odds.

I look forward to meeting you and the rest of the gang. Thanks for your hard work,

Sounds good Ed. I may poll the membership with the same question. The AAW office staff mails a lot of stuff now that I think we could bypass. I would rather see the staff time spent on more productive work.

Everybody - bring umbrellas. It is pouring down rain this morning. Typical south and southeast thunderstorms. You will need the umbrellas to walk the 2 blocks between the symposium location and the exhibitions.

Ed, from now on when you register for something and you put down just Ed Moore, you need to put a little note underneath that says "See Edward Moore" as a cross reference! 😛

C. you there! I'm leaving in a little bit.

Bill

Ok, we're just about ready for your guys. I just helped with the unloading effort of the 1 ton worth of material for the AAW registration desks, the AAW banners, and the AAW logo products booth. Helping unload and move the material 1/2 a city block was Malcolm Tibbetts, Alan Lacer, Bonnie Klein, Darrel Duer, Linda VanGehutchen (former board member), and Mary Lacer.

The Instant Gallery area is ready for our tables. The TradeShow area has a whole bunch of neat stuff in it. And the rooms are going to get prepped tomorrow morning.

Come on out to Louisville!
