I have a super nova chuch that has one of the tightening slots that is striped. I wondered if anyone who uses one experienced that problem? I have written the company about if it can be fixed but haven't heard anything.

Gary, Teknatool opened a new service center in Florida. Not sure the new phone number, but I am sure you can find it on the web. In the past, their service response has been quite good. I would call them. I know in the past they would replace yours with a rebuilt one that was as good as new.

Thans Ted and Ebrannon,
I called them and even though it was out of warranty they are sending me a pinion gear free. They were very nice. Thanks again for all your help. Gary

Gary, I had experienced the same this on my SuperNova2 chuck. One of the tightening spots wouldnt work at all (stripped ?) so I marked it with a sharpie to save the frustrations later. I meantioned this problem on SMC's forum and was told to cut the ball end off of the t-wrench, because the wrench was what was stripped out. I did exactly that and now both tightening spots work exactly like they should.

FYI.

[Scott, Thanks for your advice, I hope to get my new pinions in the mail right away or I would. They were ver nice and sent it free. I just have to take it apart, clean it and put it back together. Thanks again. GaryQUOTE=Scott Hackler;74409]Gary, I had experienced the same this on my SuperNova2 chuck. Gary I had the same problem with a SN2, they also sent new pinions for free. One thing I did to avoid this in the future is buy an aftermarket alan wrench, it seats better and won't strip the pinions as easy.
