The story you are about to read is true. One name has been changed to protect my wood source. 😀

Ring...........Ring............Ring

Hello?

Hey Bill, it's George [not his real name]

Hi George, how's it going?

Are you going to be around tomorrow?

Yes, I am. What did you have in mind?

I'm taking down a couple of trees tomorrow, and one of them has a burl on it the size of a truck tire! Are you interested in it? (silly question!)

Of course I am interested in it! Let me know when you are ready for me!

So today my buddy "George" gives me a call, and off I go to see this burl. We ended up cutting it in half so we could lift it into my truck. We cut through the least burled areas, so there is not a lot of figure to be seen in this thing yet, but it shows lots of promise.

Of course, he wants a bowl from it, but I think I can manage that and still have some left over.

Bill

I'd be glad to. It will make a decent article for my own site as well.

As for the rest of you guys, just think barky little dogs and heavy caliber weapons. :cool2: We have a big dog too, but the little one makes all the noise. And if I want to make it real dangerous, I will put Amber the cat out there on guard!

Bill

Nah, Jeff. Like Bill said, barky little dogs and high caliber weapons. You bring the dogs, I'll bring the weapons. We should be all set.

Dietrich :cool2:

Jeff/Dietrich,

You are approaching this mission from the wrong direction. The only weapons you will need are a few bits of meat and some catnip. Use the meat to make friends with the yappy dogs, then rub them with the catnip. The cat and dogs will wipe one another out.
And what about Bill? He won't be around because you will have arranged for him to demo at some imaginery club in the northwest.

Note to self!

I must remember to drive truck to summer picnic! Do you think Bill would notice a pick-up truck leaving with burl blanks? 😀

Back to my senses, wife will be coming and traveling in the truck is not going to cut it!

Steve

you need a vet

Sounds to me like a veterinarian is needed. Jeff, I am on your way to Pa. I f you get here about noon, we should be able to get there by midnite!! Have chainsaw, sealtite, and suturing materials.😀 Gretch
