I got to spend a day with him in Pensacola last month, actually worked the video system so I really had a good spot to learn. You are right that his demos are not only interesting and educational but they are also entertaining. I have worked a video camera from the tailstock end of the lathe for a lot of folks, Bill was the first that seemed to get a kick out of covering me with chips as he turned. He could hit just about any one in the front he wanted by turning the bowl gouge slightly. He is a master. If you ever get a chance to see him it is worth the cost of the demo.
This past weekend our local AAW club met and were very lucky to have a great demo by Larry Fox. He is a full time turner from the Colorado Springs area that was here visiting family so he contacted our president. The demo we had planned could postpone a few months so Larry volunteered to demo some unique techniques for us, no charge except what he made from selling his DVD's to us ($10, how can you go wrong!). He was very good also and entertaining, if you ever get a chance to visit with Larry Fox it is also worth the effort!
