For months, I’ve been anxiously awaiting the two Stuart Batty 15v bowl gouges I ordered. Not here yet. But has anybody ordered them, received them, and tried them out? I absolutely LOVE his toola, and have his handles (older ones) and gouges with his bolsters on them. Also own his angle gauge (wonderful!), tool rest for grinder, etc. Did I NEED to buy new gouges? No. But, then, what does need have to do with it at my age? :)
 
I spoke to him on the 17th of November and asked how soon the gouges would be available as I was looking to purchase a 1". He said the 7/8" gouges would be available a bit sooner and that they're quite large on their own and that I should just order one of those. He said if it wasn't available within the month he'd send me one he'd personally used that was in his shop and that I could swap the 7/8" for the 1" later if I wasn't satisfied. So I went ahead and placed the order. The other items from my order came promptly and the new handles are excellent. However, no sign of the promised gouge.

I've tried calling, emailing, and messaging through his site and have not gotten a response. I'm sure he's got a lot going on, but it would be nice to at least get a response.
 
I'm glad to hear he's busy. I've also had a recent transaction where he was wonderful once we spoke, but initial response took some patience.
I assume growing pains as all new ventures experience.
His quality and knowledge are excellent, and some recent offerings of his pieces for sale in Marketplace sold immediately. So his products are getting response. Look forward to his operation running smoothly as he grows.
