I am about to construct a few staved fly rod tubes. Can anyone give me some guidance or tips for this project. I have two 1940's bamboo fly rods in excellent condition that need storage tubes and I need a few college graduation gifts. The tubes will be 6 sided and should easy but the caps will be the most difficult part. I plan to use leather straps as a handle and to fasten the cap. I would like to know what others have already learned.
