I am thinking of buying a spray gun to apply finish on my projects. I am hoping to get a brighter, harder and quicker finish than hand rubbing, I do some turning and also do flat work I am consitering a standerd air gun a hvlp gun or a hybred. Dose anyone have any suggestions.

I use a conventional gun for my spray work. Have also used hvlp units and from my experience there just is not that much difference. I paid $375.00 for the conventional gun and spray mostly thin materials like laquer and other lightweight clear finishes. I get good atomization at 35-40 psi and limited over spray. It really lays down a smooth slick finish. Hope this helps,
