Spindle Adapters for Original Oneway Chuck

I have an older version of the original ONEWAY chuck (uses levers to tighten/loosen jaws) that has a 1-1/2" x 8tpi threaded hole (pre-Taperlock version) in the chuck body to accept a threaded inset to adapt it to various size lathe spindles. Has anyone tried either the Pen State LABAR418 (1-1/2" x 8tpi to 1" x 8tpi) adapter or the LABAR4114 (1-1/2" x 8tpi to 1-1/4" x 8tpi) adapter in the above ONEWAY chuck? If yes, did they fit and perform properly?

I do not own any Oneway chucks. I have 5 Vicmarc chucks. Whenever I need something I call the factory in Australia, direct. They are very helpful. They always have an answer or the part that I need. I would try calling Oneway, I have heard nothing but good things about their customer service. Oneway has even made parts requested by turners...

Thanks for your reply. What you say is true today and has been for quite some time. However, the original version of the Oneway chuck was manufactured with a 1-1/2" x 8tpi threaded hole in the body to accept spindle adapters with the various sizes of I.D. threads for various lathe. At some later date Oneway changed to the Taperlock style of spindle adapter. I have the older threaded hole version.

A light dawns. I think I should have known that.
we had the old style chuck at MD Hall where I taught a lot of classes. Never had to take out the inserts.

About fifteen years ago I had Oneway make a special tapered adapter for a Talon chuck and they only charged $25. Their only request was that I provide a drawing with dimensions. It never hurts to ask.
