Sounding Bowls

The tuning pegs, machine heads, tuning knobs would be the component you need to select that will work for the purpose and incorporate into the shape of the bowl you are turning. The instrument strings need to bridge over the edge of the bowl on both sides and then attach to the tuners and hold the tension of the string without coming loose.

Tobias Kaye I'm pretty sure did an article for American Woodturner and you can probably do a search of the archives and find it. If not im.prettybsure it is in his book. I have the book but unfortunately it is packed with all of my other books. We are moving in 2 weeks.

I have been in contact with him as of late he has been helpful just looking for more references along the way looks like it will be a great challenge Tobias himself if not making bowls to sell, he is working concentrating a book as of now he still has craftsmen work under his watchful eye.
