Guy asked me to make 3 copies of this Fly Fishing Reel.
He supplied & insisted on using Huon Pine...timber choice surprised me.
Gave me a chance to try something other than local club competition pieces
He was very happy with them .

Thanks to the Methyl Eugenol in it, Huon pine is incredibly resistant to insects, marine borers and rot. It's a bit oily and may be the most durable timber on the continent. It is also a lightweight timber. I bet those characteristics contributed to the selection
