I can pretty much hookup my shop vac directly to everything in my shop, but my 17" bandsaw has 2 4" outlets on it. My shop vac has a 2 1/4" hookup and I need some sort of an adapter that I can hook up to both 4" outlets, and then go into one 2 1/2" outlet that will hook to my shop vac. Does anyone know if there is something like this?
Thanks, Bobby

You can buy y connectors and a bit of 4” flex to hook it to your vac. Problem there is you are going to have very low airflow. Vac arent usually good for high cfm, but can pull a fair amount of static pressure. You need high cfm, equal bigger blower, to pump more air for those two 4” ports to have enough air moving to carry the sawdust away.

I'm not looking for 100% dust collection. I'd like to just be able to collect some of it. It comes out the bottom door so I know its not an airtight system. I have a 6hp shop vac and really just wanna collect some of it. I uasually just open the doors and vacuum out the insides once in a while. My bandsaw is reall just used peridically on the weeknds and then its just a buch of small work. Just wanting something to help collect some of it. It may just wind up being more of a hassle than whats its worth. Lol I can get 4" adapters that will go down to 2 1/2" for hose, but then would have to have a 2 1/2" "Y" or "T" to hook to the vac.

A tee is pretty easy on a lathe you just need a way to secure it to a face plate or chuck.
If you can find a tee or wye at a big box store you can always turn a bushing to adapt to the fitting and your shop vac system.

You do not need a tee just an adapter from 2 1/2 to 4. Use flatstock 4 inch diameter and turn a 2 1/2 hole in it , this adapter will fit into the 4 inch hose. or you could go whole hog and turn a tapered adapter.Loike this one on a dust deputy.Dust deputy setup.JPG

This is my adapter from 4" to the vac. The black piece on the end is from the shop vac section at HD and cut down IMG_20191104_085348.jpg as are the pipe parts from HD. I only have one port on my BS.

I agree with Mark, there isn't enough air flow from a shop vac for both ports. Plugging one port and using the other would be better and as Mark stated, you may have to play around to find out which one gives you the most benefit.
