I work in a machine shop as a production machinist. We probably have industrial fire standards written down somewhere, but I've never read, nor have been required to familiarize myself with them.
I can tell what I do observe in the shop.
All oily and chemically saturated rags go into an all-metal approved fire resistant container. The purpose is to confine any spontaneous combustion to that container.
All flammable liquids not in immediate use are confined to one area, on metal shelving.
We have solvent tanks and trichloroethylene cleaning facilities in the shop. These things have a room to themselves, and any fumes that they emit are routed outside the building through filters.
My employer is very contiencious about being compliant with industrial standards, so what I'm telling you is probably universal OSHA information.
Matter of fact, if you run a search for OSHA, you could probably come up with some written industrial standards that you could use for your club.....!
