Howdy all,

I am on the look out for a Headstock Guard for a new Laguna REVO 24-36 Lathe I recently purchased. I have looked everywhere and am only able to find Headstock Guards for the Laguna REVO 18-36.

Will the guard for a 18-36 fit on a 24-36?

I've sent a query to Laguna last week and they got back to me saying they are looking into it.

Any ideas out there in wood turning land?

You could adapt one for a Jet or Powermatic or make your own if you can weld.

Seriously, it's a sensible idea, but there aren't any aftermarket guards probably because of practically nonexistent demand and the prohibitively high cost of nonrecurring engineering associated with each particular lathe model that it would be certified to meet TBD safety performance requirements and not to mention the even more prohibitive cost of product liability insurance. Either that or have a disclaimer that it isn't fit for any functional purpose and is only intended for decoration. :D

If you're at the beginning stage of woodturning then a cage is more meaningful, but once past the "hump" of not having catches, woodturning becomes a pleasurable rather than a traumatizing experience.

The Grizzly G0800 24/48 lathe is a clone of the Harvey Industries Turbo 60 lathe, as is the Laguna Reve 24/36. with both models having modifications specified by either Grizzly Industrial, or Laguna. The cage that came with my G0800 is listed in the parts diagram and is item number 49 in the list. The part number is P0800049 CHUCK GUARD (G0800)

You could call Grizzly Industrial, or visit Grizzly.com for information and ordering if you really want the cage. It is pretty much like the cage/chuck guard on the on the Powermatic 2442, only painted black.

I just took a look at the Laguna website and the Revo 24/36 page, and under accessories tab there is a headstock guard listed as available for that lathe..........ball is in your court! ;)
