John Lucas is one of my favorites. I like Mike Waldt too if you haven't heard of him, a Welch man. Also, Ian 'Robbo' Robertson of Australia. Robbo is perhaps most famous for his 'Why you don't use a spindle roughing gouge on bowls. He donates a bit of blood in it....

Robo. I made my Oland tools with 5/8" square keysteel bodies 12" long set in blocked up & turned handles. The keysteel slips out of the wood for easy sharpening on a platform.
Re table saw kickback many don't realize that there should be a slight clearance on the outfeed side to reduce the danger of kickback.
