I bought a Rikon 4X36 belt/disk sander from Woodcraft about a year ago. In the past few weeks I have noticed that after it is running for a few minutes, the sander will start making a loud rattling sound. The sander is secured to a tool stand. If I take the belt off, the sound goes away. Has anyone else had this type of problem? If so, what fix did you use?

Sounds like bad bearing(s) on the driven belt pulley. If it's under warranty, call the MFGR or Woodcraft. If the warranty expired, take a shot and call them anyway. Absent help from that direction, pull your owner's manual, find and order the part Nos. and fix it.
 
One drum drives, the other doesn't, and is also normally the tracker/tensioner. Look there first, give a good spin by hand and listen for rattles. It's the one that needs to tilt for tracking, and the tilt setup is prone to rattle loose.
