Any information on where to go in San Diego for wood or turning equipment. I just found out I will be traveling there from Alaska. As you can imagine anytime I am in the lower 48 I try and track down the best wood stores and deals to bring the 3000 plus miles back home.

Your input willbe great. Thanks in advance.

We have 2 top notch retail places to go to for wood in San Diego County.
Check out Tropical Exotic Hardwoods in Carlsbad. (www.anexotichardwood.com)
They have a wide selection of turning stock ranging from small sticks to entire logs.
Cut & Dried Hardwoods in Solana Beach.
Has mostly flat lumber, but a wide selection for those into segmented work.

I agree with Hal. Whenever I am out there, I hit up both places.

Here is a list of sponsors for the San Diego woodturning club
http://www.tridsd.com/sdwt/Pages/sponsors.htm

There is a company on there, the SD woodturning center that is a local hardware dealer and a long time supporter of woodturning.
