I have a Jet 1642 EVS, 220V and the readout has recently become stuck at 0. Also sometimes the switch does not start the motor. i push in the switch and it usually works the second time.
Otherwise it works fine.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Rob

I had similar problems with my Vicmarc. In my case it was the potentiometer and the starting switch. I disconnected the power, opened the box containing them, cleaned the dust with compressed air and then sprayed some pot cleaner, moved the pot ant the switch back and forth to clean them. It worked perfectly.
Hope this will help.
PS: pot cleaner is sold at Radio Shack or similar electronic stores.

I have the same problem now & then with the switch malfunctioning on my 1642..thanks for the info on how to correct it

1.There is an RPM sensor located in the headstock. This can become loose and vibrate so they no longer work. Your manual discusses how to adjust.
2. Intermittent switch problem should be fixed with a blast of air as already suggested.

I open the headstock door on a regular basis and blow the inside out.
