Here are links to six videos I just got through editing, from the recent get together in St Louis, where we spent a couple days working with the Lindow/White Rose Engine Lathe. These are large video files, so give them a minute or two to load. And yes, I bought one of these very cool machines... :cool2: ...now I need to figure out how to put the thing together 😕

Polyester Resin Bottle Stopper on Lindow/White RE Lathe

David Lindow demonstrating Pearling Tool

Steve White and David Lindow discussing their new Dome Chuck

David Lindow demonstrating Phasing and Dome Chuck

David Lindow demonstrating Phasing for Basket Weave

David Lindow demonstrating basic RE techniques

Ed - Thanks for posting these. I've only had time to watch the first one, but I learned more watching the video then I have from all the articles I've read to date.

I notice at the end of the video it says "Hosted by Ed Davidson". I heard music, but I didn't hear any narration during the first video. Did I misunderstand your usage of the term "Hosted by"?

Great job on the video.

Ed

RE Videos

Ed, I was able to download 1, 3, and 5, but got a 404 Not Found error code on 2, 4, and 6. Could be my crappy old computer. Will try again tomorrow.
Awesome Videos! Thanks!!

thanks Ed for putting this together, I am in the process of gathering parts/etc to build a RE and an ornamental attachment ( ala NOVA) for my Jet, with the first being the OA to experiment on before spending the LOML's retirement ...😱 on building the RE. I am so fired up about this stuff , a big thanks to you and L/W for demo'ing this. Awsome stuff and I are ... jealous (?) of you for sure and can't wait to see some " magic " from you !!!

Keith,

$2,600 for the basic machine plus another $200 or so for the table you'll have to build yourself and the X-Y cross-slide plus quick-change tool posts. Figure a good three grand with shipping.

And, like everything else with our little obsessions, there will be lots of other attachments and gismos that you'll just have to have as time goes by.

Here's a link to the manufacturer's site: http://roseengine1.com/.

BTW, I have no business affiliation with these folks, other my money that's now in their bank account 😱

Fantastic!

YoYo Spin (Ed D.), that was a great video! I've only watched the first one so far, but want to comment on what a great video that was to watch. It makes me want one of those lathes! Yes, women can be tool junkies and gadget freaks, too guys.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but the music in the video is timed to the motion and movement of the cutter. I'm sure that was done intentionally, Ed, right? I know nothing about film editting or post-production work, but I do notice little things like that, because it pulls everything together in a clip.

Now I'm going to treat myself -- sit down in front of the woodstove on this cold and snowy April 4th Friday morning (yes, it's snowing right now :mad🙂, and watch the rest of the videos 😀!!

I guess that I am just an old grouch, but the monotonous music keeps putting me to sleep so that I can't make it through a video and the music is louder than the audio. From the parts that I saw before nodding off and whacking my head on the keyboard, the videos are very informative (not that I plan to get or build a RE or ornamental lathe.
