i'm brand new to this forum and need some help in the next 1/2 hour!!
i have a rockwell 46-111 wood lathe and there's a steady rest on e-bay WHICH
may work on my lathe. did this lathe ever come with a steady rest as
a accessory

Sorry to have seen this late, but I'm sure you discovered there are only two factors of importance, swing over the bed and distance between the ways, both of which you had available. Did you buy the rest? If not, get busy and build one. They're not difficult, and they are handy.
