The other day I bought item 320645041867 off ebay UK. It was described as LEARN WOODTURNING DVD Fine Woodworking DVD Workshop and mentioned, but not named, an acclaimed international woodturner.

Just to let you know that this is an extremely poor copy of the Turning Wood dvd of Richard Raffan's and published by Taunton Press. Although it only cost £3.40 the quality is really poor. I do have the seller's details and have passed these on to Taunton Press and Richard Raffan.

I have no doubt that almost all of us have had illegal dvds at some time or another but to sell them (in quantity) on ebay, I don't think is on.

I don't know the laws concerned in naming and shaming so I will hold back on that for now but he is a foreign 'gentleman' living in Derby, UK

Regards
Paul

If you didn't already, you should also report this to eBay; that'll get the person shut down fast.

I've got the old VHS and the quality was poor by today's standards. If he bootlegged it off of those then it's got to be unwatchable!

I don't know how fast it will be, unless they are more reactive to complaints now. I found a guy bootlegging my DVDs on EBay a few years ago. Despite the fact that I am the distributor to any and all resellers (I did not know the guy), and he was selling them for less than the wholesale price that everyone who resells them pays, EBay did not want to get rid of him. It took a lot of writing and documentation for me to get him taken off.

Very true; I stand corrected - SOMETIMES eBay will shut the defender down fast. Other times they will do absolutely nothing about the same offense.

It's usually worth a try, though.
