Has anyone used the Right Angle Sharpening platform? It looks pretty good and simpler to use than resetting the platform using various methods. I reset mine using either Trent Bosch's angle setting devices or my digital Wixey device.

That is an interesting platform. I have used the robohippy platforms which are nice and have positive stops. I just invested in two of the Stuart Batty platforms that are highly engineered and very solid. However they do not have positive stops. Which is unfortunate. It's not hard to set the platforms but I'll tell you this, in practice. I just don't. I try very hard to only use one angle and/or sharpen everything before I change it. Regardless, the ship has sailed. I looked long and hard trying to find options for a grinder platform and there just wasn't squat. Now, as soon as I pull the trigger I discover new ones.

I was just thinking this morning that if I had a 3d printer I would print up some adaptors at different angles for my Wolverine platform, similar to his skew adapter.

I use the Right Angle platform on all my scrapers and really like it. Once you figure out which hole to use, it is very quick and repeatable. It has really improved the speed with which I can sharpen my scrapers. Once I found the right setting, I simply marked the correct number on the tool with a sharpie.

On initial setup, do you find yourself using a preset (to the platform) for repeatability where you have ground something at a weird angle to the system. I wouldn't say that is settling as much as refining

if I had not modified my Kodiak tool rest to have stops every 5 degrees I would buy one of tge right angle tool rests in a heartbeat. I got used to using the Roborest. the Kodiak rest is more solid but didn't have enough stops. I saw the right angle rests at SWAT 2 years ago and loved them.

I got them for 2 reasons. One was curiosity, just to see how they work after seeing a Mike Waldt video about them, and I do like Mike's videos. Also, I just have to experiment. They are well made, but not cheap. I would think that if I was still making my robo rests, the prices would be very similar due to the rising costs of metal over the last few years....
