I have a piece which has five separate components, each component was turned separately and is not connected to any other component but all are a necessary part to complete the whole work and will be displayed and sold as one.

My question is this. Will this work be allowed as one entry?

I would really like to hear from AAW officials who can answer definitively.

If it were my decision, Ed, I would say yes and I hope the AAW does as well.

In Portland there was a large piece made up of several modules that could be combined in a couple of different ways. It was displayed as 3 or 4 individual pieces and had a table pretty much to itself ( Ben Carpenter) , plus the works of Christian Burchard ( madrone basket arrangements) and so on at other symposiums have set the precident to allow such things.

Ed, as long as your pieces have a "need" to be displayed together, it's certainly been the practice in the past, to treat them as one entry. If it were simply a series of different turnings, say from the same type of wood, then that might be pushing the rules a bit. A more detailed description would allow me to give you a clearer answer, but I'm thinking that your pieces will be treated as one entry.
