I just need to double check some others experiences about building a refigerator kiln.
I saw Kelly Dunn a few years ago talk about his system of using this for drying rough turned bowls.
I would like to know what other turners are using for holes in the bottom and top of refigerator, aprox. number and size?

My heat source will be light bulbs, 100 watt for two weeks, 75 watt for 1 week , and 40 watt for the last week.

Thanks to all ,Tom Obourn

the way a frig kiln was described to me was to hang a light bulb in the bottom of the frig, put a small fan (computor fan) over a small hole at the bottom of frig so the fan blows a small amount of air across the light and have a small hole at the top of frig to expell air. At this point the temp should not exceed 150 degrees. I would use a oven temp sensor so the light would shut off at this temp. and like cookies check the progress every now and then to see when it is done.
