I recently finished a bowl, coated it with a lacquer sanding sealer to fill the grain and dry fast and then sprayed spar varnish over it. Sanded it with 320 paper and started to spray it again but ran out of spar varnish. Reached to get the polyurethane and sprayed one coat to find it erupted the underlying spar varnish or the sanding sealer. What is happening to my finish? I have put varnish over sanding sealer before and haven't hadd any problems.

If you have done the same thing in the past, with the exact same products, the only ting that I can figure is this time the lower coats were not drt enough and the solvent was still outgassing or the top coats were too thick and they were solvent popping (same thing, just proper term).
