On my old lathe, 1" X 8tpi spindle, I had a bottle stopper chuck I got from PSI.
For my 3520 with the 1 1/4 by 8tpi spindle I can't seem to find this chuck.
1. What do you use to chuck blanks for bottle stoppers on the 3520?
2. Is there a bottle stopper chuck out there that I'm not seeing?

Try Clay Johnson at Choice Woods in Louisville. He sells a compression type chuck that fits inside the headstock via a draw bar that works nicely for me. I use the psi chuck on my mini and the compression chuck on my 3520.
Good Luck

I made my own that fits into a scroll chuck. It is a piece of maple with the threads of a bolt sticking out

If memory serves me well the threads are 3/8-16.

I use a 3/8 dowel chuck on a #2 morse taper which is a drill chuck with its jaws drilled out to 3/8.

On our clubs site, Central Illinois Woodturners, I have posted a tutorial on Bottle stoppers where I show a couple different styles.

If you got a new PM holding stoppers shouldn't be a issue. If it were me I be trying to find a blank big enough to fill that bad boy and gitt'in after it!

Right along side the computerchair here in the shop sits a 28" diameter by 9" thick rounded blank that will be a salad bowl by the end of Memorial day this weekend. Have to mount the bed extension first and then I'll have a go at it.
Would you consider that big enough for this bad boy? 😀
Bottle stoppers help pay for this hobby ..........er obsession........ That little 1" by 8 tpi screwchuck from PSI was real handy and I was hoping to find one 1 1/4 by 8 tpi. But I've gotten good answers so far that are worth trying.

Take a look at the recent issue of AWW, on page 68 there is a mandrel made by Ruth Niles

Why don't you just chuck up the old bottle stopper mandrel in a 4- jaw chuck?

That's exactly what I've been doing and it has a slight wobble. Since I do a lot of bottle stoppers I'm looking for a more permanent solution with no wobble.
