Thanks to a former thread on this website, I purchased a VicMarc outboard lathe bracket to put on my PM3420. It is mounted at the end of the lathe on the legs. It has a LARGE post that hold the toolrest securely, with the post attached to the floor absorbing a great deal of tool vibration. It works like a charm and is so much better that dancing with a freestanding tool rest. I was talking with a friend of mine who was about to purchase the PM stand, but once he tried my rig, he ordered the Vicmarc bracket.
Just wanted to say thanks and also post for some of our new participants.
Thsi messageboard continues to be helpful to me and connects me with colleagues around the world. Thanks to our moderators.
