Out of round spindle

Edward, I asked what may be a related question in another thread, fairly recently. I learned a great deal from the responses and from practicing my box making. I may now be in a position to help; however, please provide more detail.

Pushing on the bevel too hard can make the tool bounce on wood that has soft summer wood and hard winter wood. This will make the tool bounce. Dull tools can also make the tool bounce.

Are there any sure fire symptoms of an out of round spindle?

The is the first time I ever played charades on this site. Let us know if we are getting close! :p

It happens occasionally. Somebody asks a question and then is abducted by aliens. :D
