Started candle holder on the 23rd and finished it today - Bloodwood base and top with mahogany & walnut accents between birch. Wall thickness is about 1/8". A tea-lite candle fits in a 1 1/2" drilled insert in the base and gives off a pleasant light in the dark. A great way to use some left over bits of wood. Finished with WB lacquer and buffed. Bottom is flocked brown.

Ray;
That is a very impressive piece. What are the dimensions of it ? You said a tea light fits in a drilled insert in the base. Does that mean the top opening is big enough for it to be put in from the top or does the base have a hole in it that sits over the tea light.
Another novel idea may be to install a mini base light kit that uses a 7 watt light bulb like a night light.
