Were kicking off something new this weekend, that those of us who have had a hand in setting up are pretty excited about. Here's the pitch:

Have you ever wanted to have your own personal website where you could display your work to the world, but don’t have the technical skills to build a webpage or the money to pay someone else to do it for you? Or maybe you've got a website already, but the traffic is small and nobody even knows your site exist. Now there is a way for you to have your own personal webpage where you can advertise your woodturnings, link to your main site or the gallery that sells your work, and have your webpage be a part of the AAW site - that gets over 3,000,000 hits every month – all for $10. Read this message from John Hill to learn more.

As a major new benefit for AAW members, we have created an ONLINE SALES VENUE for our artist members, our gallery members, and our many collectors (if you have more than one piece from someone else, you are a collector!). To view and access, "Artist/Gallery Market Place", "Collector/Museum Corner", and the "Collector/Museum Wish List" , click on this link: http://www.woodturner.org/resources/bb/ which is ready to receive your entries. There is a place on the AAW home page ( http://woodturner.org ) titled “Online Sales Venue†(upper left-hand corner) where the new Sales Venue can always be entered from.

With over 40,000,000 hits on the AAW web site each year and taking into account that we have 62,119 other web sites linked to ours, this venue will offer AAW members and member galleries, a powerful tool to help reach collectors, help collectors find “treasuresâ€, and help museums find desired woodturnings for acquisition. It is like a huge “live instant gallery†where you can view other work and have others view yours.

For listings in either the "Artist/Gallery Market Place" or "Collector/Museum Corner", we will create a web page for you, where all of your listings in the respective site will be shown and where you can direct viewers to your own web site, email address for purchase, or to the web site of the gallery where your work can be purchased. The cost to maintain your web page is only $10 per item listed, with two pictures of each piece allowed. Your pieces will remain up for at least 24 months unless you notify us of a sale.

Any time that you want to edit a listing or if a piece is sold, send an email to webmaster@woodturner.org and clearly identify the piece in question.

I want to thank you for being a part of the inauguration of this great program. If you have any questions or need any help at all, please just give me a call.
