Hi,

I nave a Jet 1221VS lathe and would like to have a banjo that accepts 1" posts. Will the Oneway M0185 12" banjo fit this lathe?

Thanks,
Bob

It's not really the banjo, but rather the clamping plate that determines if it will fit. Also look at how much the change would affect the height adjustment range of the toolrest. Your questions can best be answered by calling Oneway. They would probably be willing to make a custom clamping plate.

Alternatively you can bore your 5/8 jet banjo to 1 inch if there is enough room. I did this with my jet banjo to accept 3/4 shopsmith tool rests instead of the flimsy 5/8 stock tool rests. However, Most of the 1” tool rests sold are too long for a mini. So you will have to choose your 1” post tool rests first be sure that they will fit first.

If you drill out the jet banjo to 1" diameter you can always use a sleeve over the 5/8" post to use in the larger drilled opening.

Oneway finally answered my email query. The M0185 banjo does indeed fit the Jet 1221VS lathe. They asked that, when ordering it, I specify the bed gap so that they can supply the correct clamp block.

Thanks everyone for responding.

Bob
