Has anyone had this for awhile? I've been looking at captive hollowing systems to go with the bosch stuff I have now. I'm just wondering if the system works descent compared to others. The laser adjuster seems like the best one I've found.

I suggest you go to your turning club meeting and ask a buddy if you can see and use one before you buy it. I guess you are already seeing the limits of the Bosch system or you would not be looking around for another. The laser is a key component, but it has to match up with the hollowing system. If the laser is crummy, as is with many of my competitors systems, than Band-Aid fixes are tried. If you give me an email I have a flier I can send you that breaks down the features and is a way to compare hollowing systems .Has anyone had this for awhile? Thanks for the feedback Doug, enjoy.Do you currently have Bosch bars and hollowing hand held? Have you looked at Trent’s stabilizer system? The more specific info you can provide for what you have, and what capabilities you want, the better the help can be. Depth off the tool rest drives bar size, and different systems have limits for bar size (and other limits).
I have Lyle’s system with 1/2”, 3/4”, and 1-1/8” bars and his swivel mounts. I used a laser for a couple of years and then put together my own camera system using his mount - works great.
Thanks Al, say hi to Sherry for me.No experience with the ONEWAY except a student used one in a hollowing class.
I’ve used the Bosch bars since 2004 with the Jamieson system.
I had added my own laser with some pipe and boat railing fittings in 2001.
Added the Bosch visualizer around 2016.
I got the Simon Hope around 2017. It works well with the Bosch bars and the visualizer.
Oneway is similar to the Jamieson, I think the Jamieson is a better choice
I agree Donna, the devil is in the details. The fingertip control is important to be able to clean up tool marks inside vessels.I have used the Oneway Hollowing set-up and own Lyle's system. Oneway's set up is very similar to Lyle's but in my opinion, Lyle's is better for this reason alone: the Oneway captured D-bar is flat, with edges. Lyle's bar is round. The flat with edges drags on the Oneway secondary toolrest as you're hollowing. I guess you could take a file or power sander and chamfer the edges, but why should you need to?
