Some time ago I asked about a Nova Mercury lathe.
I was a good feller so I got one for Christmass.
I am very pleased with it. Very smooth running, quiet, variable speed works great.
I live in an RV trailer all winter and this little lathe is just what I "NEEDED". I turned mesquite today, which is quit tough wood, with no problem using regular size tools.
Nicest mini lath I hav seen. 😎

I've had my 1/2 hp Mercury for over two years and really like it. The variable speed allows fine adjustment although I've often felt that it lacks the power I've experienced with something like the Delta or Jet minis with standard drive motors. I added one extension to my Mercury and found the new Nova Midi chuck to be a nice compliment to this machine. I use the lathe primarily for ornaments, pens and lidded boxes.

I'm curious where you found your Mercury. At one time, Woodcraft had an exclusive on these lathes -- my Mercury even has the Woodcraft logo on its headstock -- but stopped carrying them last year.

Chuck; My mercury has the woodcraft logo also but Woodcraft no longer sells them. I emailed Technatool and they gave me the name of a dealer in the USA. Proably the only one. He sent it promptly and a small problem, caused in shipping, was corrected imediatly.

I believe they are not in production right now as they are having trouble geting anyone to make the castings. The bed and headstock are one piece. Realy good solid design.

I don't guess I should advertise here, but if you want the dealers address, contact me directly.
