Norton 3X Sandpaper Update

Well I just got back from spending the afternoon in the brand new HD store that opened today close by (1 hour drive). It was like a bee hive in there . There were factory reps on most of the product lines and hardly a place to be found in the huge parking lot..
I got a bunch of odds and ends of WW related goodies that I was either out of or never had before and included in them was Norton 3X sandpaper both in 3 packs and 10 packs and also 3X , 5" ROS disks.
In sheets I got a package each of 100 , 150 , 220 , 320 , and 400. In 10 pacs of 5" ROS discs I only got one each of 150 and 220 which are the grades I use most with my ROS.
I have heard that some HD stores dont stock the Norton paper or only in a few grits.
Let's hope that this is a beginning of them stocking the full line in the stores that have not been carrying it.

Hi William,

I got some Norton 3X sandpaper recently at a couple of Home Depots and WOW! I am a believer in 3X. As soon as is reasonable I will pick up a couple of grits I missed. Good stuff. Next I must try some Abralon pads.

Thanks ever so much for telling me about the Abralon pads in another thread here.

I ordered the Abralon introductory kit the next day and I just picked up the parcel in my mail today when I got back from HD. I can certainly see why you were so impressed with the job it did on your freinds bowl.
The introductory kit has one each of 6" foam backed pads in 360 , 500 , 1000 , 2000 , and 4000 grits as well as the Surebuf Pad and the handle with strap.
I have orders for a couple more large fretwork clocks to get finished off right now and then I am going to have a ball trying some more turning and trying out my 3X sandpaper and my Abralon supplies..

My comments have followed a trail.. you do not know the history, but William has not been following sage advice and has not been wearing a face shield. now he has one. this comment was to reinforce the safety aspect of turning. I hope you have been safe too.

We may not know the hx, Dr. Dewey, but we do know that William has been appropriate and you have not. I've been on this forum for quite some time and yours are the first series of comments that have offended me. I'd appreciate your either clamming up or dropping off if you're going to behave that way.
