8/28: The ID and Password for the new system is provided in the polybagged AW Journal. The ID and password from this AAW forum is not the same.

Original message:
The new AAW member software is now online (see the homepage). The AAW website is updated to include links to the new features. You will be able to access the new features with your individual ID/Password which will be included with the Fall AW Journal. The Fall issue will arrive in your mailbox very soon.

The new features include:
- electronic voting for 2007 board members
- look up other AAW members online
- renew online, using the updated renewal feature
- individual membership profile which you can change

For each of those features you must login with your ID/Password.

Answers:
Have any questions? We have some answers. There is a special Q & A webpage located here

Thanks to the group of 8 AAW volunteers who did extensive daily reviews, comments, and testing on the software over the last 4 weeks:
- Ed Davidson
- Phil Duffy
- Ed Kelle
- Frank Kobilsek
- John Lucas
- Mark Mandell
- Ed Moore
- David Somers

We also had reviews and comments from the AAW board members. And I have been working extensively with Mary Lacer and the office staff. They have provided good feedback and are now using the new system in the AAW office.

Ed Davidson (our webmaster) has also done an excellent job of helping get the software running, and doing all the website changes done. Thank you Ed.

And thank you to our AAW team and the AMG team (software company) who have dedicated their time to deliver this new software.

The member lookup is terrific. I would like to see lookup by zipcode range. Zip codes are fairly geographic and search for a range of zipcodes would let you get a list of members who live close to you.

Our next goal is to add two more features over the next 6 weeks:
- shopping cart
- symposium registration for 2007

After everything is up and running then we'll look at enhancements.

Sean - I agree! There are 12,000 members and I'm hoping people will use that Q&A page as a reference. Otherwise the forum and the office staff will get deluged with questions which already have answers!

Where did you get your ID and password from? Did you look in section 2 of the Q & A webpage where this is discussed?
i entered my aaw password as asked for in section 2-it was rejected as i told you in myfirst post.guess i am not as smart as you! but ido read and follow instructions..i just went there again and was rejected AGAIN

In my initial post above, I indicated the ID/password will be included with the Fall AW Journal.

We have added the following answer to the Q & A webpage:

Q. Is the ID and Password the same as the ID and Password used in the AAW online forums?
A. No. Those are different systems. There are 12,000 AAW members. Many of them do not use the AAW online forums. If you want your ID/Password set to be the same you can change your ID/Password on the AAW members-only section.
- Obtain your ID/Password from the 2006 AW Journal.
- Then login to the members-only section.
- Then you can change the ID/Password to whatever you want!

And as an additional comment, many people on this forum do not use their real name. We do not intend to change that. So we cannot unify the two systems.

Robert, can you please read my responses to your postings? Since you do not have the Fall Journal you do not yet have an ID and password. See the postings above which explain this.

Works just like its supposed to.
Great job.
Will wild card search strings be available in the member directory someday?
Sometimes you have to guess at a name.
Mark

Hi Mark - after we get the next two main features up and running, then I'll probably put a poll here (or actually in the members-only section). Then we can look at what enhancements we can add. The next two main features will be:
- shopping cart (to replace the existing AAW product pages)
- revised symposium registration, initially supporting 2007
