I'll go for Sycamore, because it's more or less native, versus the exotic eucalyptus. Lots of different looks to eucalyptus, but this doesn't look like the ones I saw. http://www.australiaplants.com/Eucalyptus_bark.html
Big wide leaves, Sycamore (plane), long stringy, eucalyptus.
I'm leaning toward Sycamore although you usually see more white bark flaking off. If the wood has been sitting around or move it may have rubbed all of that off.
It has some interesting characteristics on the outside that remind my of Red Pine or something similar. Hard to say from my side of the screen, but you'll find out as soon as you cut it. 😀
My first thought was cedar/pine/cypress. Looks like there is a bit of fiber between the bark and wood. Smell should give it away. Does look similar to some sycamore/plane, but not like the stuff we have out here.
