I hope it is okay for me to post this here. My dad was a very avid woodworker until he got sick and passed away this past April. Mom has asked me to help her sell his equipment. I have had luck pricing and selling everything. I kept the RBI Scroll Saw for myself, I love that saw. We are down to just a few things including a 1/2 hp AMT Lathe. I have searched and can't find any reference on how to price this. It is hard wired to a bench that he made and we have lots of tools.

I have a friend whose uncle is interested in it, but after weeks of searching, I don't know how to price it. I have had good luck researching all the other pieces and figuring prices based on what I have found.

My dad was the greatest woodworker and made some beautiful things, all small pieces, lots of things made on the scroll saw and the lathe. We are lucky that we have so many things he has made and given to all of us. I still feel bad every time I sell a piece of equipment, but I am the only one who does any type of woodworking. He taught me how to use the scroll saw, but the lathe was too intimidating for me!

If anyone could point to websites or any where that would give me some idea, I would really appreciate it. I know it is has a 1/2 hp motor, but I will look to see if I can find a model number. I assume another important feature is the width/throat, indicating how long of a piece you can put in to turn?

Forgive my ignorance about the technical part of this. Thanks so much.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I think it is great he left so many memories.

The lathe you are talking about is a very low end lathe by todays standards. Considering you can get a new Harbor Freight lathe for around $150 I think anything you can get is a plus.
