Got a question? Does you Jet 1642 or like model Dance?? I have a Ballest box filled with about 400 lbs of cement. the box is attached to two long boards that rest (without mechanical attachment) to the lathe. I still have a bad problem with dancing a few inches plus when turning slightly out of round at or above 800 rpm. and full out of round at or above 450 rpm. is this just normal- should I bolt the big boy to the floor?
Just curious of your opinion.

Bob, that is a great jig. For those without a bandsaw, this is a winner.

Kenny, my 1642 doesn't dance at all. It may shimmy a bit with an oversized, unbalanced piece, but it doesn't move inches. I've only 140 extra lbs on a shelf below the lathe.
