Articulated tool rests like the one in the link tend to be bouncy. The levers are too long and not heavy duty enough. Not sure exactly what you need. One that cantilevers out more off the banjo? Maybe a different banjo?
That's a great idea. It hadn't occurred to me to try flipping the tool rest around. I guess I was too close to the problem. I'll have to give it a try over the weekend and see if I'm successful. Thanks!
I had the same concern about an articulated arm. I've used them on a Powermatic M90 and remembered it bouncing more than I liked. I can't imagine it would be too much of an issue for small stuff though.
