I'm going way out on a limb for the March 2023 turning challenge. And, because of my recent bout with Covid-19, the challenge is about two weeks later than usual. This might be a flop, but the challenge is to create a Covid-19 virus model or a caricature of the virus. Basically, it is a sphere with protein spikes dotting the surface. There are numerous pictures on the web. The image below is royalty-free from Shutterstock.

Time is short, you have until midnight UTC March 31, 2023. The voting rules will be posted after the submission period ends.

- Only one entry per person and only one photo of your turning.
- Entries must be posted in this thread.
- The deadline for posting entries is midnight Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on March 31, 2023.
- As always, this is a turning contest, not a "moldy oldie" photo contest, so in fairness to everybody, make sure your work is something you have made after March 13, 2023.
- You may not post any photos of your entry in this month’s challenge in any other thread or in the gallery until the voting has ended and a winner has been declared.
- Voting will occur from April 1, 2023, through midnight UTC on April 4. 2023.
- Solicitation of votes will result in disqualification.
- The winner might have to pass a lie detector test before collecting the prizes. Good luck, have fun, make shavings, and let the chips fall where they may!!
