Vicki has posted a new (29 year old) Fine Woodworking article on my website, maybe some folks will find it of interest. Not much I would change about it, but the hooktool shown in the drawing is one of the early swivel tip Stewart tools-not my favorite, and not what was used in the turning. The article did reference drywall screws, and given the recent post on faceplate screws, I removed that reference.

The article is can be found under the "Articles" tab on my website. https://www.johnjordanwoodturning.com/fine-woodworking---turned-and-carved-vessels.html

The opening paragraph in the article should some how be made available for all beginners to see, maybe as a poster near their lathe. By the way I got out my issue No. 85 and sure enough it said "drywall".

HaHa-I had to go look at it. Thank you, Don. :)

I got rid of all my FWW last year. I had them all from issue one up until some years ago when they got on a tool testing thing. I sure loved reading and re-reading all those early issues, a lot of those guys were almost god-like. Never suspected I would get to know some of them.

I also was a charter subscriber but I still have the original set up until a few years ago when I dropped my subscription.
