Just got an offer from Publishers Billing Exchange to renew my subscription to Woodturning Design for $99.97 for two years.

What a deal, only $40 MORE then renewing direct

That is assuming Woodturning Design would actually see the $59.97

I wonder what out-dated subscriber list they got a-hold of. I dropped my subscription several years ago.

I get these scams from time to time. "Renew your Popular Mechanics subscription for only $99.00 for two years". The real price is about $19.99 for two years. The sad part is you know they wouldn't send these things out if they weren't getting some people to fall for it. My other favorite is the "Our records indicate your vehicle warranty is about to expire, hurry up and renew". Their "records" aren't too good considering the warranty on my vehicle expired five years ago.

I got the same thing and was confused. And then I grabbed a copy and shook it and the postcard with the lower rates fell out. I will email Joe Hermann and ask he address it.

Kelly:

Joe already knows about this and for the past few days has been posting about the scam on Facebook and other locations. This same kind of renewal "offer" has come up several times in past years for Woodturning Design.

Caveat emptor!

Rob
